Like many of us, you always think that you have more than enough internal memory.
I started with a mere 128GB internal hard drive for my HP Pro G6 laptop, but as I self-published author soon realised this would not be enough. Mainly because I started using a 3D graphics program, and as my library of items increased so did the memory required.
A Samsung 265GB was quickly followed by a 500GB SSD, then to a 1TB model. Yet most of my library was on external drive, so I finally purchased a Samsung 990 EVO Plus 4TB SSD, the largest my laptop can access.
Samsung have some free software, (Samsung Magician,) which makes duplicating Windows OS a breeze, including all the installed programs on your original drive, (helps if your existing SSD is Samsung.)
I went for the 990 EVO Plus because of it’s lower heat signature over the Samsung 990 Pro with heat sink. This is the last upgrade I can make to my existing laptop with It’s Intel i5 processor and 64GB memory, Crucial.UK has a free upgrade checker that tells you which memory and drives you can fit to your computer.

Bought this a few months ago for a mac studio m4.So impressed with the read and write speeds.
getting 6000 mb/s read using a wavlink 80 gb/s enclosure.

For the price, this SSD offers excellent value. A full 4TB that plugs directly into the motherboard and massively improves system and program loading times. The large capacity really helps future-proof my storage, especially with games getting bigger every year.
Performance-wise, the general specs such as read/write speeds are solid, and more than fast enough for gaming and everyday use. The drive itself isn’t much to look at inside a gaming rig, but given its small size it doesn’t affect the overall aesthetic and certainly isn’t a deal-breaker.
Installation was straightforward and took about 20 minutes. Samsung Magician also makes it easy to monitor drive health and temperature, which is a nice bonus. Overall, a great upgrade and fantastic value for the storage you get.

Ordered just before the prices started going up so price was very good. It’s perfect as a large drive for my games and matches my primary drive. The magic application showed me firmware was up to date with no issues.
