This is a good printer but the install was not straightforward on Windows 11. I could not get it to work until I used Windows to install the printer driver. Once installed worked fine.

My old Epson Stylus SX130 finally conked out so I had to get a new printer. I wanted a printer for home that used individual ink cartridges, like the SX series. The XP-4205 came up trumps in that department and there are compatible cartridges on the market that are even less expensive than I used to pay before. You do not have to sign up for Epson Ink supplies if you don’t wish to do so. Setting up the printer was different to any other I’ve done before, but nevertheless, quite straightforward and easy to do. You can even set it up to print from your phone. I’ve noticed a big difference in the speed of the printing compared to my old SX130 and big added bonus – it can print on both sides of the paper, I’ve not worked out how it does that yet but its really impressive, The scanner also works a treat. All round I would say it must be the best on the market currently if like me you want a good printer for home use. They must be popular, almost everywhere I tried they were out of stock and I had to drive to Merthyr Argos to pick it up, well worth the trip though.
