The Targus VersaTvu is one of the few — if not the only — keyboard cases that truly allows a 360° rotation, giving you the freedom to switch between landscape and portrait effortlessly whilst still protected by the casing. That’s what first caught my attention. It’s a clever, well-thought-out design — typically Targus innovation at its best.
With the added Bluetooth keyboard, it looked like the perfect match for my new iPad Pro M5. The rugged design also gives confidence that it will protect the iPad well — my last Targus case lasted almost nine years, so I know their build quality is solid.
However, after about two weeks of daily use, I ran into a persistent issue: the Bluetooth connection kept dropping. The only way to fix it was to turn the keyboard and Bluetooth off and back on again. It became frustrating enough that I decided to return it.
I’ve since gone back to the Apple Magic Keyboard (M4) — it doesn’t swivel, unfortunately, but the connection is rock-solid and it works seamlessly.
Still, if your VersaTvu doesn’t have the same connectivity problems mine did, it’s a fantastic concept — a genuinely unique keyboard case with superb flexibility and protection. Maybe I just got a faulty one.
Overall, I’m happy with my decision, but I still admire Targus for pushing creative, practical designs where others don’t.
