I bought the Swann wireless system because I wanted an easy & wire free installation with the ability to wirelessly view live streaming on PC and Android phone. The first requirement is covered in that the cameras can be sited anywhere quickly and easily with the cameras streaming to the supplied hub and recording on the included SD card, however the recorded footage always lags behind the action so whatever has triggered the camera is usually disappearing out of shot once the camera has woken up.
Live streaming via app to phone doesn’t work 90% of the time and then only one channel will show but the playback of recorded footage usually works. With the PC app I’ve only managed to get live streaming once in multiple attempts and 90% of the time it won’t recognise my log in or will give an error or offline message. The only way to get reliable live streaming is with the supplied HDMI cable connected to a television which requires the hub to be next to it and defeats the aim of being cable free.
Swann say a good wifi signal is needed but the cameras stream and record to the SD card without trouble and I can have the PC and phone two feet from the hub and wifi router and the apps still don’t work so I can only conclude the software or hub is poor. Either way I can’t recommend this system particularly as its not excatly the cheapest available.
