Its great extremal HDD I use for storing and backing up files (I don’t subscribe to a cloud service).
The only thing is, these drives are no longer recognised by Western Digital Drive Utilities (they don’t appear to be supported any longer by WD or Win11), which makes some of the features un-useable. WD password lock was partly the reason I bought it, hence only 4 stars.

it’s plug and play (almost) you have to instal on your laptop and then click on the apps within it to instal the facility for password protection.

Great device. I collected it very quickly from the pick-up point. I needed to send my laptop for repair, so I was able to transfer around 470 GB of data to the external hard drive with just one click in about an hour and a half. It was fast and straightforward to use. I hope it continues to work just as reliably in the future.

This my second one as I was pleased with the first one which is still going strong. Good capacity and reasonable write speeds. Reasonably compact so easily moved from my pc to my laptop. Bought to replace my failing internal ssd which is just used for data, so now I do not need to get the ssd replaced.
