Great product , great deal with soundbar included. Upgraded from Bravia 5 series which is now on my son’s bed room wall. Could not be more pleased, even better picture and soundbar adds to the amazing sound quality. Would definitely recommend this product and no hesitation in giving it a 5 star rating. Excellent

I recently went ahead & purchased this soundbar to go with my new Bravia TV,
The Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 8 (HT-A8000) is a sleek, premium all-in-one soundbar that delivers on its promise of an immersive audio experience, especially for movies and TV. Its key strength is Sony’s unique spatial technology

This is a well built sound bar that definitely improves the sound from the TV speakers of my Sony Bravia 8 alone. However the sound bar lacks bass and like many users I decided to add the SA-SW3 sub-woofer to give more depth, and it certainly does. It is an expensive option though, buying both speakers. I’m building my sound system in stages as I evaluate each component to decide what I need, if anything, next. I am looking forward to adding the rear speakers that I think will enhance things even more, but it will keep adding to the cost. In hindsight, it might have been better to pick a fully functional surround system from a different manufacturer at the outset.
The other thing to note is the setup. The sound bar installed very easily just by connecting the supplied HDMI lead and power cord. I could hear the bar clearly, but the problem came when adding the sub-woofer. It’s a blue-tooth device and although Sony say that it should be recognised by the sound bar automatically in most cases, mine wasn’t, even after pressing the “pairing” button on the back of the unit. I tried the next option to pair manually. According to Sony, I need to press the “Home” button on the sound bar remote control to bring up the settings and pairing menu. Unfortunately the remote control supplied has no such button and I was unable to bring up the menu. After a bit more research, I discovered how to do it through the Bravia Connect App on my smart phone. The process involves giving the speaker access to my home broadband network so that it could recognise the sound bar. It didn’t do that immediately, because the sound bar wasn’t on the network either. I didn’t realise I had to do that. After quite a complicated process, involving software updates, with both units connected in, the sub-woofer paired immediately and all worked fine, with a beautiful atmospheric bass. I was left wondering how a user would do this if they didn’t have a smart phone? I think in general, this system requires a bit of “tech savvy” to get it working when adding other components.

I waited a couple of months before posting a review of the Sony HT-8000 soundbar
The soundbar makes you feel part of whatever film or programme you’re watching
The 360 Spatial Sound Mapping really works; films that support Dolby Atmos or DTS:X have to be heard to be believed; just amazing quality
Setup with a Bravia TV was so easy and enhanced the already great viewing experience
